needed a laugh today. thank you for making me laugh. let's talk about joe biden. he made comments yesterday about the middle class being buried. let's listen. >> this is deadly earnest. how they can justify, how they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that's been buried the last four years. how in lord's name can they justify raising their taxes with these tax cuts? >> of course, joe biden went on to clarify. but, ana, paul ryan wasted no time, seizing on those comments. good strategy? >> look, you know, i love joe biden. i don't know how every republican in america doesn't love joe biden. he is a great guy. he's fun. he is the gift that keeps on giving. i miss joe biden. we hadn't heard a gaffe from good old joe in about two or three weeks. it really had been a long time. this is what the campaigns are like today in 2012, unfortunately. we look for gaffes on each other and try to make them real big. i think when joe starts getting earnest, when he starts getting righteous and starts talking about god, watch out, because a zinger is coming out. >> speaking of zingers, t

happen to be the words of the distinguished vice president of the united states mr. joe biden. no, don't boo. he's the best thing we got going, guys. don't boo. because in a moment of clarity, in a brief moment of clarity he just told us what we already knew. >> reporter: romney's aides say they expect the president to call on the gop nominee to offer specifics. >> we're going to limit deductions. >> reporter: but in an interview with the denver tv station, romney began to do just that. >> well, you could do something for instance as an option you could say everybody's going to get up to a $17,000 deduction. and you can use your charitable deduction or home mortgage deduction or others, health care deduction and you can fill that bucket. if you have a $17,000 bucket that way and higher income people might have a lower number. >> reporter: as for all of that talk about zingers, the romney campaign officials did not exactly say they have a fun one-liners ready to go for tonight. but they did say it won't be difficult to challenge the president's record on the economy. translation, wolf,

vice presidential debate is a week later on october 11th. and today vice president joe biden campaigned for a second straight day in the battleground state of florida. in ft. myers today, he blasted mitt romney and paul ryan for their medicare reform plan, claiming it will put more financial burden on seniors. >> in pennsylvania, six teenage girls have been charged as adults suspected of viciously beating a woman that police say is mentally disabled. the attack happened just outside philadelphia on tuesday, and it was caught on a cell phone camera. the video was posted on facebook and as you can see, the woman being beaten and stomped as some of the suspects there actually sit on her body as well. she actually was sitting on the front steps. police say the girls chased the woman into her house and continued to beat her with a chair, a shoe, and their fists. here's what the mother of one of the girls had to say. >> i never talked to my child since she went to school yesterday. i have yet to talk to her yet. >> what about your other daughter? >> i haven't talked to her. >> she apparently
